Hino 2.4C

The brigade currently operates a Hino 2.4C tanker as of September 2008. The Tanker is the first appliance responded when turning out to Grass and Scrub fires, it is also responded first to fires outside the coverage of Portarlington's hydrants, this is because the Tanker has more water than the Pumper. The Tanker carries 2350 litres of water and it's pump is capable of pumping 450 litres a minute at 700kpa. It has the added advantage of being a 4 wheel drive, this allows us to access difficult terrain that 2 wheel drives can't.
