Brigade Rescues Cat From Roof - 15/07/2013
On July 15th 2013, brigade members received a direct call to the station from a family concerned about the welfare of their pet cat. The cat had been missing since the previous data and had been located on the roof of the neighbours two storey house.
Members were notified and then proceeded to the address in the brigade Pumper. On arrival, the crew was met by the owner of the furry feline who directed them to its location. Using ladders, members gained access to the roof. After some encouragement(i.e food) the cat allowed members to bring it down to safety.
Note: Portarlington Urban Fire Brigade is a volunteer brigade and the station is not always occupied. In an emergency, ring 000.

The event was a great night as usual, and afforded the Brigade the opportunity to thank community organisations for the assistance they have provided throughout the year.
